Our aim is to establish The Norfolk Arms as the number one inn and wedding venue in the Sheffield area.

We're always looking for talented, enthusiastic individuals who can help us to move forward and achieve our goal.

The Role

Our front of house team are the first faces our guests see on arrival - it is their job to ensure a warm welcome and to look after the guests throughout their visit.

As a member of our team you will be required to provide excellent customer service in our main bar and private events. This will involve bar service, waiting-on and maintaining a high level of cleanliness in all working areas.

The Person

We are looking for sociable, enthusiastic and friendly individuals with experience of working in a similar environment. Knowledge of cask ales, craft beers, wines and spirits would be advantageous, as would previous waiting-on experience.

Shifts

Hours will depend on the requirements of the business and whether you are looking for a full or part time position. Shifts will include weekends, early mornings (for breakfast) and late evenings. All staff will be required to work over the Christmas and New Year periods as these are our busiest times.

The Role

As part of our kitchen team you will be working on various sections and preparing food for guests in our pub, hotel and events. You will have the opportunity to cook using fresh, local ingredients and to contribute ideas to our new menus and specials boards. Career progression is a realistic possibility for the right person.

The Person

We are looking for sociable, enthusiastic chefs who will fit straight into our friendly team. Experience of the following is essential:

  • banqueting and wedding catering
  • cooking with fresh ingredients
  • working successfully as part of a team during busy, high-pressure shifts
  • relevant health, safety and hygiene procedures and regulations

Shifts

Hours will depend on the requirements of the business and are likely to be five days out of seven. Shifts will include weekends, early mornings (for breakfast) and late evenings.

The Role

The main role of this position is to clean pots as they are returned from service and return them to their correct location ready to be used again. You will also be expected to clean and maintain the pot washing area throughout your shift.

A keen eye for detail is essential.

Shifts

Shifts will be during our busiest times, which are usually evenings and weekends. Hours will vary each week and will depend on the needs of our kitchen team.

The Role

As night porter you will be responsible for ensuring that the premises are cleaned and prepared in readiness for the following day. You will also be required to assist and serve guests who are staying overnight in one of our thirteen rooms.

The Person

We are looking for reliable, hard-working and trustworthy individuals who are able to follow a schedule as well as work on their own initiative.
A keen eye for detail is essential.
Experience in the following would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given:

  • general cleaning and maintenance
  • working in a customer service environment
  • bar work

Shifts

Standard hours will be two nights a week, 11:00pm until 7:00am. You will also be required to cover our full time night porter's annual holidays and any absences, where possible. There is a strong possibility of extra hours during our daytime operations for the right candidate, if required.

The Role

As an important member of our highly-regarded events team you will be dedicated to providing amazing service to guests at our weddings and events.

The Person

We are looking for reliable, hard-working and trustworthy individuals who are able to follow direction and work efficiently under pressure. A naturally polite, friendly and sociable manner are essential.
Experience in the following would be advantageous:

  • food and beverage service, particularly waiting-on
  • working in a customer service environment
  • working in a hospitality environment, particularly weddings and private functions

Shifts

Shifts will be available for scheduled events at The Norfolk Arms. Most of our events take place during the weekend, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings.

This role would suit individuals who are looking for flexible, part-time weekend work. Additional shifts will be available in December.

The Role
You will be responsible for the changing of beds and the cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms in our guest rooms, to meet the high standards of The Norfolk Arms and our guests.
Other duties such as washing, ironing and the general cleaning of our function facilities may be required from time to time.

The Person

We are looking for reliable candidates with a keen eye for detail. Some experience of housekeeping and interacting with guests is prefered. Full training in our methods and procedures will be provided.

Shifts

Standard hours for this role are Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 10:00am - 2:00pm. This may be required to change on occasion, with the possibility of extra shifts to cover annual leave and illness.
